The ‘Champagne & Novocaine’ compilation of 2004 was one of many inspirations for our songs. The variety of styles and artists who were the background soundtrack to Biba created a complex challenge: to provide a tapestry of songs and music that captured the spirit and yet were fresh and original. Listen to some of the samples on this site to hear how successfully we have achieved this aim.
The songs all serve to illustrate the Biba story. Some – Barbara Biba, This Little Dress, The Bomb Song, Fun While It Lasted – are narrative and descriptive, while others - Oh So Cool, Someone You’d Love, Distrust For The Artist, The Bottom Line – capture the mood and sentiments of the protagonists. All combine to drive the story from its heady beginning to its desperate but glorious conclusion.
